Should You Say No to Bush?

.
Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush disappointed again in Week 11′s Thursday Night Football game. Despite the fact that he was facing one of the league’s worst run defenses. Should Reggie Bush ride the pine on your fantasy team?
.
Until Bush reestablishes himself as a back worthy of a spot in your starting lineup, I would say sit him.
.
The Buffalo Bills held the Dolphins to 60 rushing yards this week. Yet, they still are giving up 153.3 rushing yards per game at 5.2 yards per carry.
.
Reggie managed to run for just 20 yards on ten carries. He didn’t exactly help his cause by catching a pair of passes for 15 yards.
.
The previous week he ran for 21 yards against the Tennessee Titans, add one catch for eight yards and a fumble that forced him to the pine. The Titans are giving up 132.8 rushing yards per game.
.
This was supposed to be the soft part of the schedule for Reggie. The next three weeks he faces the Seattle Seahawks, the New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers. All three of those teams enter Week 11 averaging around 100 rushing yards per game.
.
Since his monster 197 total yard, two touchdown performance against Oakland in Week 2, Bush has reached 70 total yards in one game. He only has a touchdown in two of his last eight games so he’s not even making up for it there.
.
I wouldn’t even say that he has had much of a bump in PPR leagues as he has just one game with more than two receptions in his past eight. Plus, he’s lost two fumbles in his past four games.
.
Reggie’s overall numbers don’t look too bad. He has 769 total yards and four touchdowns in ten games for an average of nearly 10 fantasy points per game in non-PPR leagues. When you take out his monster game though, he’s averaging around seven fantasy points per game.
.
In his last five games, Bush is averaging about 5.5 points per game. That’s just not cutting it.
.
Meanwhile, Daniel Thomas is averaging about seven points per game in his last five. That’s with just about 11 touches per game.
.
Thomas isn’t going away. Reggie has a brutal schedule coming up. Things do not look good.
.
I wouldn’t go so far as to recommend dropping Bush. He could end up coming around at the perfect time with Jacksonville and Buffalo in Weeks 15 and 16. If you like to gamble, this may be the time to try to pry him away from his owner.
.
That said, he should not make his way into your lineup until further notice. He’d have to show some signs of life before you would consider using him during the fantasy playoffs.
