If your roster is pretty much set this week you may want to take a peak ahead to next week. I know you hear the phrase one opponent at a time, but that’s not the case in fantasyland. While people are struggling to fill out this week’s roster, be proactive and get a step ahead of them. Here are some targets with favorable Week 12 match-ups.
Shaun Hill, Detroit Lions
Hill has four games with either 300+ yard games or multiple touchdown passes in the five games he started and finished this year. He has a decent match-up against Dallas this week, so he’ll likely be on the fantasy radar, but I’m more interested in his Thanksgiving Day match-up with New England’s 29th ranked pass defense that’s allowed 289.9 passing yards per game and 16 passing touchdowns.
Vince Young, Tennessee Titans
VY has been dealing with an ankle injury so don’t expect many to roll with him this week against the Redskins. However, he faces Houston’s league-worst pass defense next week. He’s averaged 167.3 passing yards, 61.8 rushing yards, a passing TD, and 0.5 rushing TDs against his hometown team in four career games.
***UPDATE*** Do not add VY.
Justin Forsett, Seattle Seahawks
We’re at the point in the season where sleeper running backs are hard to come by, but if Forsett outperforms Marshawn Lynch again, he could earn himself a bigger role down the stretch. He could be especially valuable in PPR leagues.
James Jones, Green Bay Packers
Jones has been a bit inconsistent, but he has two 100+ games in the past three games. If he was forgotten in your league since he was on bye last week, perhaps you should grab him before he faces the struggling Vikings. You don’t necessarily have to use him this week, but if he has another good game, he’ll be a popular addition before he faces Atlanta.
Josh Morgan, San Francisco 49ers
With a date against Tampa Bay, who ranks sixth with 215.0 passing yards per game, Morgan probably isn’t on the radar. However, next week he takes on Arizona, who ranks 28th with 284.8 passing yards allowed per game.
Rob Gronkowski, New England Patriots
I know he scored three touchdowns last week, but fantasy owners may be hesitant because he faces the Colts this week. They, however, will be without Gary Brackett so another solid game isn’t out of the question. If that happens, Gronkowski will be a hot commodity. Why not grab him now in case you want to start him against Detroit?
Cleveland Browns Defense
The Browns still have a stigma, but they beat the Saints and Patriots and took the Jets to overtime in their past three games. They are improved. Carolina, on the other hand, has not. They are dreadful, and the Browns get to face them next week. This would definitely be an under the radar move that could work in your favor next week.

I faced Greg Jennings in both my leagues, lost both games. I wish James Jones would have chosen this week to go nuts. Ahmad Bradshaw’s no-show didn’t help either

Tough break. I actually have Jennings in both of my money leagues so I’m happy today.

I did face Arian Foster and Peyton Manning both times Houston and Indy squared off.

For the 49ers would you start Josh Morgan or Michael Crabtree?

I have Vince Young as my QB and i placed him on the IR. Which QB is a better pick up to help me on the rest of the season; Jon Kitna, Shaun Hill, or Sam Bradford?

    I like them all.

    Good matchups:
    Hill – NE, TB
    Kitna – WAS, ARI
    Bradford – DEN, ARI

My pick would be Kitna since his good games are 15 & 16.

    14 team PPR, 2 Wrs, 2 RB + Flex.

    1. RB2-Fred Jackson, Law Firm or Blount

    2. Flex-1 of the above RBs or Nate Burleson (other options are James Jones, Brandon Gibson, Breaston or Sidney Rice)

I like Burleson for the flex with Blount as the odd man RB out.

Sorry-MJD is my RB1, so I need 1 RB2 from Jackson, Law Firm and Blount, and a flex from the 2 odd RBs out and Burleson

In that case I’d go with Jackson and Burleson.

    I need four WRs to start,who should I pick? I have Roddy White,Brandon Llyod,Santonio Holmes,Mario Manningham,Dez Bryant, and Mike WIlliams(TB)

    November 24th, 2010 at 8:56 am #

My four highest ranked are Roddy #5, Holmes #10, Lloyd #11, Dez #13

I do like Manningham #17 as well with Nicks out. If your gut says him over Dez, I wouldn’t have much of an argument. The only one I don’t see as good as the rest this week is Williams.

I’ve had a tough time with injuries and such so I’ve had to dig deep but I still have this game to hold a playoff spot…Here’s what I’m dealing with right now…

QB: Shaun Hill, Matt Ryan or Cassel
    RB: Jamaal Charles
    RB: Tolbert or Thomas Jones
    WR: Roddy White
    WR: Sidney Rice
    WR: Burelson, Harvin, or Moss

    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I like Hill this week against NE. He’s played really well and NE has a bad pass def.
I like TJ over Tolbert, but I could go either way on that one.
At WR I would go Roddy, Burleson, and Harvin. I’m not ready to trust Rice completely yet.

Thanks for the feedback with the 4 WRs..I also have a problem with RB,I need two RB to start and I have Keiland Williams,Mike Tolbert,Ahmad Bradshaw, and Darren Sproles.

Bradshaw for sure. I like Tolbert over Keiland because my guess is you’re going to see an inspired Vikings defense for Frazier.

I have a tough decision on who to start this week at QB. I have Matt Ryan v.s. GreenBay. Jon Kitna v.s. New Orleans. And Josh Freeman v.s. Baltimore.

I like Kitna this week in a shootout.

Which two receivers should i start this week. DeSean Jackson, Brandon Lloyd, Randy Moss, or Santonio Holmes. For me i felt it was between Jackson, Lloyd and Holmes. But i don’t know which two to pick.

    November 24th, 2010 at 4:30 pm #

I have Jackson (8), Lloyd (11), and Holmes (10_ all in the top 11 so I would say trust your gut and you should be good. If it were my choice I would go with Jackson and Holmes, but Lloyd is also a great play.

  24. LestersLegends
    November 25th, 2010 at 11:12 am #

both good options. i have holmes a little higher, but if your gut says Mario I don’t have a good argument against him.

  26. LestersLegends
    November 27th, 2010 at 7:08 am #

I like the Eagles and the Giants. Eagles would be my first choice, but if your gut said Giants, I’d go with it.

I went with Green-Ellis at RB (which worked out well), but now I need to choose between Moreno and Tolbert for today’s games.

Nice job going with BJGE. I’d probably go with Moreno. He’s been playing really well of late.

PPR. MJD hurting but expected to play. Fred Jackson v. stoutest defense, but no Spiller and good pass catcher. Also have Blount.

Thinking I have to go with stud MJD-any last minute wisdom?

  32. LestersLegends
    November 28th, 2010 at 10:55 am #

I’m with you. Go with MJD. He’s playing great and it’s hard to leave him on your bench. If Jackson or Blount had easier matchups, I might hesitate a bit more, but since they have Pitt and Balt I would stick with MJD.
