With an exciting 16th week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 17 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. San Francisco 49ers
It is a shame that most leagues are finished and 49ers defense owners won’t get to take advantage of this matchup. The Niners rank second in total defense and third in scoring defense. The Arizona Cardinals rank dead last in total offense and 30th in scoring offense.
.
2. Denver Broncos
The Broncos rank third in total defense and fifth in scoring defense. The Kansas City Chiefs rank 22nd in total offense, but last in scoring offense. Despite Jamaal Charles’ great year, the Chiefs have been held under 17 points in 10 of the last 11 games.
.
3. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks rank fourth in total defense and lead the league in scoring defense. They have outscored their opponents 150-30 in the past three games. The St. Louis Rams rank 24th in total offense and 26th in total defense. They have allowed 11.7 points per game at home.
.
4. Chicago Bears
The Bears got their mojo back. Facing the Cardinals will do that to a team. They get the Detroit Lions this week, who gain a ton of yards, but don’t put up a ton of points. Da Bears held them to seven points in the first meeting.
.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers lead the NFL in total defense and rank 10th in scoring defense. The Cleveland Browns rank 27th in total offense and 23rd in scoring offense. Trent Richardson is dealing with an ankle injury. If he misses the game, the Steelers would be in even better shape.
.
6. Green Bay Packers
The Packers rank 10th in total defense and seventh in scoring defense. They have allowed 13.5 points per game during their four-game winning streak. They have the offense to make the Minnesota Vikings chase, which means more Christian Ponder. That’s a good thing for Packer fans and fantasy owners.
.
7. San Diego Chargers
The Chargers rank 11th in total defense and 15th in total defense. The Oakland Raiders rank 18th in total offense and 29th in scoring offense. They have averaged 12.2 points in their past five games and 14 in their past seven.
.
8. Buffalo Bills
Despite getting blasted by the Seahawks in Week 15 the Bills have averaged 23.5 points allowed in their past six games. The New York Jets have averaged 14 points in their past five games.
.
9. New England Patriots
The Pats held four of their past five opponents below 20 points, including limiting the Miami Dolphins to 16 points in Week 13 in Miami. This time they face the ‘Fins at home.
.
10. Tennessee Titans
The Titans are terrible defensively, but the Jacksonville Jaguars rank 31st in both total offense and scoring offense. They have averaged 11.8 points during their current four-game losing streak.

Predicting a defense can sometimes feel like a shot in the dark. The Detroit Lions had a juicy matchup against the Arizona Cardinals last week. That should have been a slam dunk. Not so much. Seriously, you have better odds at PartyCasino.com. When you’re done collecting your winnings, stop on back and check out the 2012 Week 16 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Chicago Bears
The Lions may have failed to contain the Cardinals, but the Bears will be a more ferocious foe. Da Bears rank fifth in total defense and third in scoring defense. The Cardinals rank last in total offense and 30th in scoring offense. Chicago’s ability to force turnovers should lead to a monster fantasy score.
.
2. Denver Broncos
The Broncos rank fourth in total defense and fifth in scoring defense. Their offense will likely take the running game out of the equation for the Cleveland Browns. That’s when it gets ugly. The Browns rank 26th in total offense and 24th in scoring offense.
.
3. New England Patriots
The Patriots were embarrassed defensively by the San Francisco 49ers last week. They will get whole against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags rank 31st in both total offense and scoring offense.
.
4. Green Bay Packers
The Packers held their three divisional foes to 15.7 points per game during their current three-game winning streak. They are facing the Tennessee Titans at home. The Titans rank 23rd in both total offense and scoring offense. They have averaged 16.5 points in their past four games.
.
5. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts have an average defense, but have a favorable matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs rank 25th in total offense and dead last in scoring offense. They were shutout by the Oakland Raiders last week.
.
6. Houston Texans
I would have the Texans ranked higher if Adrian Peterson wasn’t running like a man possessed. The Texans have been vulnerable to the pass of late, but Christian Ponder is incapable of challenging them downfield.
.
7. San Diego Chargers
The Chargers aren’t a strong defensive unit, but the New York Jets are in full self-destruct mode. They rank 30th in total offense and 28th in scoring offense. They have averaged just 13.3 points in their last four games. There is a lack of talent on the team, and the Tebow Experiment was a complete failure.
.
8. Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton has the Panthers at least going in the right direction. Meanwhile the Raiders, despite last week’s shutout, have hit the skids. They are averaging 14.4 points in their past five games. They are playing on the road, where they are averaging just 15.8 points in six games.
.
9. New York Jets
The Jets may be a mess on offense, but they have buckled down on defense, allowing just 10 points per game during their past three games. The Chargers rank 28th in total offense and 21st in scoring offense.
.
10. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks rank third in total defense and second in scoring defense. They have a tough matchup with the 49ers, but they are playing at home.

With an exciting 14th week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 15 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Detroit Lions
The Lions are more of a middle-of-the-road defensive unit than an elite option. That said, the Arizona Cardinals are an embarrassment. They rank last in total offense (269.5 yards per game) and scoring offense (14.3 points per game). They have six points in the past two games combined.
.
2. Cincinnati Bengals
The Philadelphia Eagles looked good last week, but there are a couple of things that jump out at me. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are terrible at defending the pass. Cincinnati is 10th against the pass. While they don’t have the top run defense like Tampa, the Bengals do rank 11th. They have the ability to keep Bryce Brown in check while not allowing Nick Foles to look like Drew Brees.
.
3. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks put a whooping for the ages on the Cardinals. They rank third in total defense and second in scoring defense. The Buffalo Bills will at least put up a fight, but I expect another strong showing.
.
4. Green Bay Packers
The Packers are a mediocre defensive unit, but suddenly the Chicago Bears are reeling, having lost four of their past five games. They are averaging 11 points in those defeats. If Clay Matthews can go this week, he could help force Jay Cutler into the type of mistakes he made in Week 2.
.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers got spanked by the San Diego Chargers, but still rank first in total defense and seventh in scoring defense. Dez Bryant could be out or limited this week, which hinders the Dallas Cowboys’ offense.
.
6. New England Patriots
The Pats dominated the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. They are terrific against the run, and while they give up more than their share of yards, they are able to minimize the scoring. The Patriots offense will place the burden on Colin Kaepernick to keep up. Bill Belichick will look to come up with a scheme to confuse the young quarterback.
.
7. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings are coming off a strong showing against the Bears. They don’t play well away from home, but at least they are in a dome. The St. Louis Rams rank 25th in total offense and 29th in scoring offense. The Rams give up their fair share of sacks. Jared Allen will look to rope some cattle.
.
8. New York Jets
The Jets have buckled down defensively the past two weeks, holding Arizona and Jacksonville to a combined 16 points. The Jets rank 8th in total defense. Tennessee ranks 23rd in total offense and 22nd in scoring offense.
.
9. Houston Texans
The Texans are coming off a humiliating loss. They still rank seventh in total defense and sixth in scoring defense. They get beat up by the bully (Patriots) and will look to take it out on their little brother (Indianapolis Colts).
.
10. Chicago Bears
The Bears aren’t forcing the turnovers (or defensive scores) like they were earlier in the year. They also have a tough foe (Packers). They are playing at home though and still rank fifth in total defense and third in scoring defense.

With an exciting 13th week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 14 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks rank fourth in total defense (313.4 yards allowed per game) and third in scoring defense (16.8 points allowed per game). The Arizona Cardinals are a disaster on offense. They rank dead last in total offense (279.1 yards per game) and scoring offense (15.5 points per game). Their quarterback play is off-the-charts bad.
.
2. Chicago Bears
The Bears rank fifth in total defense (319.7) and second in scoring defense (16.5). Adrian Peterson is a handful, but Christian Ponder is playing as bad as any quarterback outside of Arizona.
.
3. Denver Broncos
The Broncos rank third in total defense (308.2) and 10th in scoring defense (20.3). They will likely get up big, which will allow Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil to pin their ears back and get after Carson Palmer. That should lead to plenty of sacks and multiple interceptions.
.
4. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers rank second in total defense (279.6) and lead the league in scoring defense (14.3). The Miami Dolphins rank 28th in total offense (317.6) and 27th in scoring offense (18.9). They are averaging 15.4 points in their past five games.
.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers lead the league in total defense (259.8) and rank sixth in scoring defense (19.2). The San Diego Chargers rank 26th in total offense (322.1). They have scored 13 points in each of the past two games, and a combined 32 points in three games against the AFC Central.
.
6. Cleveland Browns
The Browns have allowed just 17 points per game in their past six games. The Kansas City Chiefs rank 31st in scoring (15.7). Last week they were able to win in spite of the emotions they had to be feeling from Jovan Belcher’s senseless violence. I think it catches up with them this week.
.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jags aren’t a good defensive team by any means, but the New York Jets have serious issues at quarterback.
.
8. New York Jets
The Jaguars have improved offensively, but they aren’t out of the woods yet. Especially, if Cecil Shorts and Rashad Jennings (concussions) are out.
.
9. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals ranks eighth in total defense (331.3). They are giving up 10.5 points per game during their current four-game winning streak. Tony Romo seems to implode at the wrong times.
.
10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bryce Brown has been running wild, but the Bucs have the league’s best run defense. The Philadelphia Eagles are a mess. They rank 29th in scoring offense (18.1).

With an exciting 12th week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 13 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Chicago Bears
The Bears rank third in the league in total defense (307 yards allowed per game) and rank second in scoring defense (15.9 points allowed per game). They force a ton of turnovers and often return them for touchdowns. The Seattle Seahawks rank 27th in total offense (316.7 yards per game) and 23rd in scoring offense (19.9 points per game).
.
2. San Francisco 49ers
The Niners rank second in the league in total defense (278.4) and lead the league in scoring defense (14.1). The St. Louis Rams rank 23rd in total offense (330.7) and 28th in scoring offense (18.6).
.
3. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens give up a lot of yards, but rank seventh in scoring defense (19.9). The Steelers are hurting without Ben Roethlisberger. He may return this week, but he’ll likely be limited.
.
4. New York Jets
The Jets have a mediocre defense. They got manhandled by the Patriots, but everybody does. The week before they looked good against the Rams. This week they have the Arizona Cardinals. The Cards rank 31st in total offense (292) and 31st in scoring offense (16.4).
.
5. New England Patriots
The Pats are on a run. During their five-game winning streak they are giving up 21.4 points per game. They give up yardage, but they rank 13th in scoring defense (22.2). The Miami Dolphins rank 26th in total offense (321.3) and 26th in scoring offense (19.2). The Fins have averaged 15.3 points in their past four games.
.
6. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals rank ninth in total defense (334.50 and rank 15th in scoring defense (22.5). During their three-game winning they are allowing just 9.7 points per game. The San Diego Chargers rank 25th in total offense (324.4) and 16th in scoring offense (22.3). They are averaging 20 points per game during their current three-game losing streak.
.
7. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys rank eight in total defense (328.8). The Philadelphia Eagles rank 30th in scoring offense (16.7). The Eagles are a sinking ship playing on the road.
.
8. Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals rank seventh in total defense (327.9) and 11th in scoring defense (20.6). The Jets rank 28th in total offense (310.7) and 22nd in scoring offense (20.1).
.
9. Green Bay Packers
Green Bay is a middling, but Christian Ponder is a floundering quarterback. All too often the Vikings go away from Adrian Peterson, particularly in the red zone.
.
10. Houston Texans
The Texans rank sixth in total defense (319.7) and fifth in scoring defense (19.2). Tennessee is mediocre offensively, and they only managed 14 points in the first meeting, but the Texans have looked vulnerable of late.
.
11. Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are not a good defensive unit, but the Kansas City Chiefs are terrible. They rank 21st in total offense (336.2) and last in scoring offense (14.6)
.

With an exciting 11th week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 12 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Chicago Bears
Da Bears did not look good on Monday Night Football. They were manhandled by the San Francisco 49ers. I expect Jay Cutler to return, which will help the offense and put the defense in better situations. The Bears rank fifth in total defense (312.1 yards allowed per game) and third in scoring defense (16.5 points allowed per game).
.
They force a ton of turnovers and often take them to the house. Chicago will put pressure on Christian Ponder and likely force the Minnesota Vikings into some mistakes.
.
2. Denver Broncos
The Broncos have been coming on. Peyton gets them a lead and then it’s (Von) Miller Time. They rank sixth in total defense (312.8) and 11th in scoring defense (21.2). The Kansas City Chiefs rank last in scoring offense (15.2 points per game).
.
3. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks rank third in total defense (296.8) and second in scoring defense (16.1). The Miami Dolphins rank 28th in total offense (309.9) and 26th in scoring offense (18.7). They are averaging 12.3 points during their current three-game losing streak.
.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers lead the league in total defense (259.1) and rank fifth in scoring defense (19.0). The Cleveland Browns rank 27th in total offense (311.9) and 25th in scoring offense (18.9).
.
5. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are giving up plenty of yards (382.3 per game), but rank ninth in scoring defense (20.6).  They have allowed just 15 points per game during their current three-game winning streak. The San Diego Chargers rank 23rd in total offense (328.8).
.
6. New England Patriots
The Pats are middle-0f-the road defensively. They give up a lot of yards, especially through the air, but not a lot of points. The New York Jets rank 28th in total offense (301.3) and 23rd in scoring offense (20.2).
.
7. St. Louis Rams
The Rams rank 11th in total defense (337.4). The Arizona Cardinals rank 31st in total offense (283.7) and 30th in scoring offense (16.3). They are averaging 12 points a game during their current six-game losing streak.
.
8. Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are a mediocre defensive unit, but the Philadelphia Eagles are a mess. They will likely be playing without Shady McCoy. It doesn’t matter who is playing quarterback. They are turnover prone and struggle offensively. The Birds rank 31st in scoring offense (16.2).
.
9. Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are losing, but you can’t blame the defense. They rank ninth in total defense (324) and seventh in scoring defense (19.6). The Rams rank 24th in total offense (327.1) and 28th in scoring offense (17.4).
.
10. Houston Texans
The Texans rank fourth in both total defense (299.2) and scoring defense (18). The Detroit Lions have a potent offense, but they have allowed 13 turnovers and 22 sacks.

With an exciting tenth week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 11 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Houston Texans
The Texans rank second in total defense (281.6 yards allowed per game) and third in scoring defense (15.9 points allowed per game). The Jaguars rank last in both total offense (263.6 yards per game) and scoring offense 14.1 points per game).
.
2. Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons rank 20th in total defense (365.6), but sixth in scoring defense (19.3). The Cardinals rank 31st in both total offense (295.4) and scoring offense (16.0). They also allow more sacks (41) than anyone.
.
3. Chicago Bears
We know what the Bears can do with turnovers. Plus, the Niners are tied for second for sacks allowed (29). The Bears also rank fifth in total defense (307.3) and second in scoring defense (14.8).
.
4. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals do not have a great defense, but they are taking on Kansas City. The Chiefs rank 18th in total offense (350) and 30th in scoring offense (16.2).
.
5. St. Louis Rams
The Rams rank 15th in total defense (342.8) and 19th in scoring defense (23.3). The Jets rank 30th in total offense (302.7) and 24th in scoring offense (19.4). They have combined for 16 points in their past to games.
.
6. Denver Broncos
The Broncos rank sixth in total defense (316.8) and 10th in scoring defense (21.0). The Chargers rank 22nd in total offense (334.6) and 17th in scoring offense (23.2).
.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs are giving up a ton of yards, but are middle-of-the road in scoring defense (23.2). The Panthers rank 23rd in total offense (334.3) and 27th in scoring offense (18.1).
.
8. San Francisco 49ers
I am still bitter about the Niners costing me a win last week. They were brutal against the Rams. San Francisco still ranks third in total defense (292.1) and tops in scoring defense (14.1). The Bears will likely be without Jay Cutler. Plus, they allow a ton of sacks.
.
9. Dallas Cowboys
The Boys rank eighth in total defense (318.8) and 17th in scoring defense (22.7). Cleveland ranks 29th in total offense (312) and 26th in scoring offense (18.8).
.
10. New York Jets
The Jets are a middle-of-the road defense, but the Rams rank 24th in total offense (332.2) and 28th in scoring offense (17.9).
