LestersLegends.com DEF rankings Week 11

.
With an exciting tenth week under our belts, here are the LestersLegends 2012 Week 11 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Houston Texans
The Texans rank second in total defense (281.6 yards allowed per game) and third in scoring defense (15.9 points allowed per game). The Jaguars rank last in both total offense (263.6 yards per game) and scoring offense 14.1 points per game).
.
2. Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons rank 20th in total defense (365.6), but sixth in scoring defense (19.3). The Cardinals rank 31st in both total offense (295.4) and scoring offense (16.0). They also allow more sacks (41) than anyone.
.
3. Chicago Bears
We know what the Bears can do with turnovers. Plus, the Niners are tied for second for sacks allowed (29). The Bears also rank fifth in total defense (307.3) and second in scoring defense (14.8).
.
4. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals do not have a great defense, but they are taking on Kansas City. The Chiefs rank 18th in total offense (350) and 30th in scoring offense (16.2).
.
5. St. Louis Rams
The Rams rank 15th in total defense (342.8) and 19th in scoring defense (23.3). The Jets rank 30th in total offense (302.7) and 24th in scoring offense (19.4). They have combined for 16 points in their past to games.
.
6. Denver Broncos
The Broncos rank sixth in total defense (316.8) and 10th in scoring defense (21.0). The Chargers rank 22nd in total offense (334.6) and 17th in scoring offense (23.2).
.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs are giving up a ton of yards, but are middle-of-the road in scoring defense (23.2). The Panthers rank 23rd in total offense (334.3) and 27th in scoring offense (18.1).
.
8. San Francisco 49ers
I am still bitter about the Niners costing me a win last week. They were brutal against the Rams. San Francisco still ranks third in total defense (292.1) and tops in scoring defense (14.1). The Bears will likely be without Jay Cutler. Plus, they allow a ton of sacks.
.
9. Dallas Cowboys
The Boys rank eighth in total defense (318.8) and 17th in scoring defense (22.7). Cleveland ranks 29th in total offense (312) and 26th in scoring offense (18.8).
.
10. New York Jets
The Jets are a middle-of-the road defense, but the Rams rank 24th in total offense (332.2) and 28th in scoring offense (17.9).

Here’s the LestersLegends’ Week 11 2011 fantasy football defense rankings.
.
1. San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona: Skelton looked good last week but the Niners are a different animal. They are only giving up 333.6 ypg and a league low 15.3 ppg.
2. Dallas Cowboys @ Washington: The Redskins (15.1 ppg, 6.7 in past three) can’t score. DeMarcus Ware will make it a long day on whoever they put under center.
3. New York Jets @ Denver: Don’t think Tebow will have any tricks up his sleeve that Rex Ryan hasn’t already sniffed out.
4. Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay: The Packers’ offense makes teams one-dimensional. Then their speed on defense takes over.
5. Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati: They return home after a humiliating loss. Wouldn’t want to be in Andy Dalton’s shoes.
6. New York Giants vs. Philadelphia: Giants defenders will be “dreaming” about sacks and picks. Sacks and picks.
7. New England Patriots vs. Kansas City: I question the Chiefs ability to move the ball without Jamaal Charles and Matt Cassel.
8. Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cleveland: The Jags are giving up just 296.4 ypg and 18.4 ppg. Cleveland is averaging 294.1 and 14.6 on offense.
9. Cleveland Browns vs. Jacksonville: The Browns are giving up 306.1 ypg and 20.1 ypg. The Jags are averaging 243.6 and 12.8 on offense.
10. Buffalo @ Miami: The Bills give up their share of points and yards but they make plays on defense. They have 20 takeaways.
11. Seattle @ St. Louis: Seahawks are middle-of-the road defensively but the Rams are dead last with 12.6 ppg.
12. Chicago vs. San Diego: Only giving up 16.3 ppg during their four-game winning streak (13.7 in the three homes games).
13. Cincinnati vs. Baltimore: The Ravens are unpredictable but Cincy (304.2 ypg & 18.2 ppg) has a defense that could slow them down.
14. Detroit vs. Carolina: Only allowing 16.0 ppg at home this year.
15. St. Louis vs. Seattle: Seattle averaging 299.6 ypg and 16.0 ppg on offense.

Inside the numbers:

  • We’ll see if my #1 jinx continues. The Ravens should manhandle the Panthers, but my top teams (Giants, Patriots, Dallas, Baltimore) have struggled in the past four weeks.
  • Arizona has been more competitive in recent weeks, but have a tough draw against the Chiefs on the road.
  • Washington is in complete disarray. Look for Tennessee to capitalize. The Titans could lead all teams in sacks this week.
  • Green Bay typically struggles a bit in the Metrodome, but the Vikings are in the tank. Clay Matthews should spend a lot of time looking down at Brett Favre this week.
  • Because of their match-ups, the Eagles, Giants, Colts, Jets, and Patriots aren’t strong plays this week.
