With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 15 fantasy football team defense rankings.
1. Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers are second in the league in total defense with 296.2 yards per game allowed and first in the league in scoring defense with 14.5 points per game allowed. They are fourth in the league with 41 sacks and 26 takeaways. Carolina is playing at home against the New York Jets. The Jets rank 30th in total offense with 307.5 yards per game and 31st in scoring offense with 17.4 points per game. The Jets have been sacked 43 times and have 28 turnovers.
2. Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks lead the NFL in total defense (287.1 ypg allowed) and rank second in scoring defense (15.8 ppg allowed). Seattle has 36 sacks and 28 takeaways. They face the New York Giants. The G-Men rank 25th in total offense (321.7 ypg), 28th in scoring offense (19.3 ppg) and have committed a league-high 34 turnovers.
3. Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs rank fourth in scoring defense (17.2 ppg allowed), second in sacks (43) and tied for second in takeaways (28). The Chiefs battle the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders rank 20th in total offense (335.3 ypg) and 26th in scoring offense (20.3 ppg). The Raiders have allowed 41 sacks and 21 turnovers.
4. San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers rank fourth in total defense (308 ypg allowed) and third in scoring defense (16.5 ppg allowed) with 32 sacks and 18 takeaways. The Niners face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs rank 31st in total offense (291.5 ypg) and 30th in scoring offense (18.8) with 34 sacks allowed.
5. Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals rank fifth in total defense (311.7 ypg allowed) and seventh in scoring defense (19.8 ppg allowed). The Cards have 38 sacks and 25 takeaways. They square off with the Tennessee Titans. The Titans rank 21st in total offense (328.7 ypg) and 18th in scoring offense (22.5 ppg) with 30 sacks allowed and 20 turnovers.
6. New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints rank sixth in total defense (313.6 ypg allowed) and fifth in scoring defense (18.7 ppg allowed). The Saints are tied for second in the league with 43 sacks. Their potent offense should make the St. Louis Rams one-dimensional. The Rams rank 27th in total offense (318.5 ypg) and 20th in scoring offense (22.2 ppg).
7. Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have allowed a ton of yards this year, but rank 13th in scoring defense with 23.2 points per game allowed. The Eagles have 29 sacks and 25 takeaways. Philadelphia faces the wounded Minnesota Vikings. The Vikes will likely be without Adrian Peterson. They have allowed 34 sacks and have 25 turnovers.
8. Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals rank eighth in total defense (320.5 ypg allowed) and sixth in scoring defense (18.8 ppg allowed). The Bengals have 36 sacks and 23 takeaways. Cincy has a tough divisional battle with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers rank 19th in scoring offense with 22.4 points per game. They have allowed 40 sacks and have 19 turnovers.
9. New England Patriots
The New England Patriots rank 10th in scoring defense (22.1 ppg allowed) with 36 sacks and 24 takeaways. They’ll try to dash the Miami Dolphins’ playoff hopes. The Dolphins rank 24th in total offense (324.8 ypg) and 21st in scoring offense (22 ppg). The Dolphins have allowed a league-high 48 sacks and have 20 turnovers.
10. Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills rank 15th in total defense (345.8 ypg allowed) and league the NFL with 44 sacks. They also have 23 takeaways. Buffalo will try to cool off the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags still rank last in total offense (285.2 ypg) and scoring offense (15.5 ppg), but have won three straight (and four of five) games. Jacksonville has allowed 40 sacks and have committed 20 turnovers.
