Did you miss the playoffs or get eliminated? That doesn’t mean the winning has to stop. SMW Clothing is giving you a shot at redemption. All you have to do is guess the combined passing yards for Drew Brees and Matt Ryan on Monday Night Football. Whoever comes the closest without going over takes home the prize.
.
Drew Brees is averaging 294.4 yards per game with a high of 382 and a low of 221. Matt Ryan is averaging 237.2 yards per game with a high of 316 and a low of 174.
.
Oh, and if you are still in the hunt in your fantasy league, no worries. You’ll look great in this shirt as you brag about your fantasy football championship. .
As always, be original. If somebody guessed a total you want, you’ll have to come up with another one. Just leave a comment with your best guess and be sure to check out SMW Clothing.

Well, Brett Favre will make the start tonight starting a new consecutive game streak. Assuming they go to the 18 game schedule next year, Favre will break his own record in 2027.
.
That’s the biggest surprise in the arctic air of Minnesota though. That distinction belongs to Adrian Peterson’s surprise inactive status. In one of the most crucial times of the season, All Day left his owners high and dry. What’s worse, is since the game it’s a Monday Night Football game, there aren’t a lot of replacement choices.
.
If you can grab Toby Gerhart, do it quickly. If you are facing Peterson, get him before your opponent does. If you don’t want to face the owner with AP, then grab Gerhart. If you can’t land Gerhart, grab Chester Taylor.  Worst case scenario pick up Lorenzo Booker. Best of luck.

Did you really think Brett Favre would just ride off into the sunset? Not unless he had a caravan of reporters tracking his every moment. The media hungry Favre just won’t go away. Despite Favre racking up more injuries than the Vikings have wins, the signing of Patrick Ramsey, and a chance to look at potential future quarterback Joe Webb, it appears that Favre stands a chance of playing this week after being upgraded from out to questionable.
.
Favre will test his shoulder well before kickoff to see if he can give it a go or not. If he is able to go, I like the chances of Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin, and even Adrian Peterson in the running game a lot better. However, if you were anticipating using Joe Webb in your WR slot, you may want to have Bernard Berrian, Greg Camarillo, Devin Hester, or Johnny Knox on speed dial so you don’t get stuck with a goose egg.
.
It is snowing in Minnesota so none of the passing options make great plays, but that’s what happens when you play somebody from the Monday Night Football game. Good luck tonight. Hopefully you survive to fight another day.

After a dream season with the Vikings last year, this one has been a nightmare with a multitude of injuries and a sexting scandal for Brett Favre. Well, the nightmare just got worse as Brett Favre’s streak of 297 consecutive games will come to an end when the Vikings kick off.
.
He is listed as inactive. Tarvaris Jackson will get the start tonight (and possibly for the remainder of the season). Percy Harvin is also inactive so make sure you adjust your lineups accordingly.
.
It was most certainly one helluva run. Thanks for the memories Brett.

Obviously the combo of Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams put on a show tonight, but there were a couple of other surprising performances.

No, I’m not talking about Ted Ginn, Jr. actually holding onto the football.  I’m not talking about the gutsy use of Pat White late in the game.  I’m talking about Chad Henne and Braylon Edwards.

Chad Henne had an outstanding game completing 20 of 26 passes (76.9%) for 241 yards and 2 TDs.  He was decisive.  He showed good poise, a strong arm, and good touch.  If he is available in 2 QB leagues, be sure to put in a claim for him.  He looked that good.

The Jets got an encouraging sign in the debut of Braylon Edwards.  He caught 4 passes for 64 yards and a TD.  He nearly had a second score, getting tackled on the 1.  He also drew a pass interference on a deep ball that set up Thomas Jones’ second TD.  If you have Edwards on your fantasy roster, you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that he’s on a team with a pulse.

ESPN is reporting that Jon Gruden will replace Tony Kornheiser on the Monday Night Football broadcast team that includes Mike Tirico and Ron Jaworski.  They have tried and failed to find the right personality on MNF with Dennis Miller, Rush Limbaugh, and Kornheiser.  Adding a fiery personality like Chucky, with his extensive football knowledge, just might work.  He wants to return to coaching so it will only be a short-time fix, but one I’m intrigued by.  Gruden was part of one of my favorite golf stories when he caddied for John Daly at the 2008 PODS Championship after spending a rain delay in the Hooter’s Owl Nest.

Kornheiser cites his fear of air travel as his primary reason to step down.  He will continue to work on PTI.
