The Dallas Mavericks made a push for their playoff run by acquiring Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and DeShawn Stevenson from Washington.

Caron Butler is averaging 16.9 points for the Wizards. He had averaged 19.1, 20.3, and 20.8 his previous three seasons. His fantasy value shouldn’t change much with the Mavs.

Brendan Haywood could see his value slip a bit with the Mavs depending on Erick Dampier’s health. Getting Haywood should affords Dampier more time to get his knee healthy.

DeShawn Stevenson continues to have no fantasy value.

The big winner in the deal is Josh Howard. His playing time has been down this year, which has adversely affected his production. A change of scenery should be just what he needs get his game back.

Also going to Washington are Drew Gooden, Quinton Ross, and James Singleton.  Gooden should see his value increase as well. Whenever he gets significant playing time he delivers. He should fill the void left byHaywood’s departure. I could see him averaging a double-double the rest of the way.

Ross and Singleton have no value.
