Here’s my updated Week 4 running back rankings. Keep in mind that Dallas, Kansas City, Minnesota, and Tampa Bay are on bye.

1. Chris Johnson
2. Maurice Jones-Drew
3. Arian Foster
4. Frank Gore
5. Michael Turner
6. LeSean McCoy
7. Rashard Mendenhall
8. Ryan Matthews
9. Cedric Benson
10. Darren McFadden
11. Ray Rice
12. Ladainian Tomlison
13. DeAngelo Williams
14. Jahvid Best
15. Matt Forte
16. Beanie Wells
17. Shonn Greene
18. Joseph Addai
19. Ahmad Bradshaw
20. Clinton Portis
21. Brandon Jackson
22. Justin Forsett
23. Peyton Hillis
24. Ronnie Brown
25. BenJarvus Green-Ellis
26. Jonathan Stewart
27. Ricky Williams
28. Marshawn Lynch
29. Clinton Portis
30. Pierre Thomas
Notable changes:

  • It looks like Ryan Mathews and Jahvid Best will be able to give it a go so I added them to the rankings. John Kuhn and Tim Hightower were shown the door.
  • Pierre Thomas looks to be a game-time decision so I bumped him down to a flex spot. He’s too risky a play. Chris Ivory would get the start, but I think the Saints would just rely on Brees more.
  • I’m expecting Clinton Portis to lose touches to Ryan Torian so he got dropped from 14 to 20.
  • BenJarvus  Green-Ellis will likely start for the Patriots, making his stock rise from 29 to 25.
  • Steven Jackson and Knowshon Moreno remain unlikely to play this week and once again were omitted.

Here’s my Week 4 IDP rankings.

    1. LaRon Landry:  Will be counted on to contain Vick and his speedy WRs.
    2. Lawrence Timmons:  Will be very active against Baltimore.
    3. Patrick Willis:  I expect him to put the Niners on his back vs. ATL.
    4. Jon Beason:  CAR is a mess, but Beason is nasty. 19 tackles vs. NO last year.
    5. James Harrison:  I expect a physical game vs. Baltimore.
    6.  Ray Lewis:  He’ll be amped to face the Steelers.
    7. London Fletcher:  He’ll also be busy trying to slow Vick.
    8. Yeremiah Bell:  Aaron Hernandez & Co. should keep him busy.
    9.  Jerod Mayo:  24 tackles against Miami last year.
    10. Lance Briggs:  Should be very active against the Bears.
    11. Clay Matthews:  Should add to his sack total against Detroit.
    12.  Jonathan Vilma:  SF have a new OC, which could spell trouble on offense.
    13. Trent Cole:  Will put McNabb on his back. 18 tackles and 3 sacks so far.
    14. Karlos Dansby:  Faces NE who figures to run a lot of offensive plays.
    15. Brian Urlacher:  At least 8 tackles every game thus far.

Here’s my Week 4 team defense rankings.

    1. Green Bay:  Should dominate Detroit at home.
    2. New York Jets:  I almost feel sorry for Buffalo in this one.
    3. Cincinnati:  Great play vs. Cleveland.
    4. New Orleans:  Carolina is just dreadful.
    5. Pittsburgh:  Could struggle if Ray Rice is out or limited.
    6. Baltimore:  Pittsburgh will miss Big Ben now more than ever.
    7. Seattle:  Faces St. Louis, possibly without Steven Jackson.
    8. Indianapolis:  Jacksonville is really struggling.
    9. San Diego:  Arizona is a shadow of their former high-octane offense.
    10. Atlanta:  SF is a wildcard with a new OC. They’ve been bad though.
    11. Philadelphia:  Interesting match-up as McNabb comes home.
    12. Tennessee:  10 sacks and 6 turnovers in 3 games. Play Denver.
    13. New York Giants:  Now or never to get it going vs. Cutler and Bears.
    14. Chicago:  Held their own vs. GB, but Giants will be tough at home.
    15. Houston:  Face Oakland on the road.
