The Favre Saga Continues

May 6, 2009

Greg A. Bedard of the Journal Sentinel is reporting that Brett Favre had a “significant tear in the tendon, if not a complete tear” last year for the Jets, which hasn’t improved significantly since the end of the regular season.  Favre was encouraged by the Jets to have surgery to repair the bicep, but he opted to retire instead.  Now that he may or may not be considering a return with the Minnesota Vikings, the elbow is as big an issue as any if the future Hall of Famer will play in 2009.  Bedard notes that Favre could still undergo surgery and be ready for training camp.  He’d miss OTAs along the way, but I’m guessing Brett would be fine with that.  Favre is slated to meet with the Vikings brass later this week.
