The Madden Curse Lives On

Sep 11, 2009

Madden NFL 10

The way Troy Polamalu started the season, it looked as if the Madden Curse had been put to rest.  He was everywhere making big hits, key tackles, and even a one-hand interception.

Unfortunately he injured his knee last night.  Early reports are that he’ll miss 3 to 6 weeks.  He’s supposed to have an MRI today to get a clearer picture of the extent of the damage.  Even though John Madden retired, it appears his curse hasn’t.  Larry Fitzgerald owners like myself should begin to panic.

That’s part of the reason I didn’t draft Fitz.

That, and he wasn’t available when it was my pick…

but if he had been, I would have passed (no pun intended).

I’m praying he fights off the curse.

I don’t see why these guys still agree to be on the cover, because they all know about the curse. Unless they have no control over who is on the cover, but I would imagine that EA Sports has to get permission from the player to use his likeness on the cover, or do they have permission from the NFL to use any player they want?
