Travis Hafner to the DL

Travis Hafner has landed on the DL for a third straight year. His right shoulder is the cause once again according to MLB.com’s Anthony Castrovince. He is going to see Dr. James Andrews, which should put his fantasy owners on edge. They don’t think it’s serious, but when the same injury keeps acting up, it should be a cause for concern.
Pronk is displaying good power numbers with four HRs, a .540 Slugging % and a .910 OPS. He’s is hitting .270 with 10 Runs, 5 Doubles, and 8 RBI. Victor Martinez and Kelly Shoppach will likely alternate between DH and Catcher with Ryan Garko getting the majority of starts at First Base. V-Mart is hitting .395 with 5 HRs & 11 RBI. Garko is hitting .288 with 1 HR and 10 RBI. Shoppach is hitting .229 with a HR and 4 RBI.
Reliever Rich Rundles will take Hafners spot initially, but Castrovince feels that move was strategic based on the bullpen being taxed on Tuesday. Castrovince says “veteran outfielder David Dellucci, who is on the DL with a strained left calf and in the midst of a rehab assignment at Columbus, will get consideration for the callup. Top outfield prospect Matt LaPorta, who has hit .368 with five homers and 14 RBIs in the early going with the Clippers, is also in the mix of candidates”.
Regardless of who gets called up, none have much fantasy value. To me the player whose stock rises the most is Shoppach. Currently he is owned in 55.9% of ESPN and 26% of Yahoo leagues.
