Week 8 Fill-ins
Is the bye week hitting you hard? How about injuries? How about just plain bad matchups? Here are some guys you can plug-in this weekend.
Marc Bulger – Did you give up on him and kick him to the curb? Maybe he’s stashed away on your bench. Maybe he’s floating around the waiver wire after his 225 yard, 3 INT, 7 Sack performance last week. Well, it’s time to dust off Bulger and trot him out there on game day. I’m thinking it will be a shootout against Cleveland, and Bulger will reward you with your faith and patience.
Jason Campbell – He’ll probably be passing a great deal as Washington gets behind early against New England.
Quinn Gray – Just kidding. Sure, he’s getting the start for Jacksonville, but avoid him like the plague.
Kenny Watson – It looks like Rudi will be out yet again. Although Pittsburgh provides a tough matchup, Watson should be pretty serviceable.
Cedric Benson – He’s been a pile of excrement thus far. If he can’t do it against Detroit at home, I’m not sure he’s going to do it this year.
Jason Wright – It looks like Jamal Lewis won’t be able to roll yet again. Wright should put up solid numbers against St. Louis.
Kevin Curtis – Minnesota’s pass defense is pretty bad. Look for the hit-or-miss Curtis to hit this weekend.
Muhsin Muhammad – If ever there was a time to start Moose, it’s this week against Detroit. He’s scored three of the past four weeks, and Detroits pass defense is horrible.
Brandon Stokley – He grabbed 5 balls last week against Pittsburgh. He should have more of the same against the Pack.
Sidney Rice – I wouldn’t recommend using Rice. I just have a hunch he scores this week.
Randy McMichael – He’s been a bust free agent acquistion for St. Louis (sound familiar Drew Bennett). However, I think he’ll get you around 5 points this week. Not bad if you’re looking for a Gonzo fill-in.
Eric Johnson – I can see him scoring against his former team.
Mike Nugent – 6 FGs the past two weeks. Hey, not everybody is Rob Bironas. I could see him kicking multiple FGs vs. Buffalo.
Tennessee – With several good defenses on bye (KC, BAL, SEA, and DAL) you’re kind of limited. Tennessee has a decent matchup against Oakland.
There you have it. If you have any other suggestions, please leave a comment.
